Privacy Policy — Gridlock
Last updated: August 7, 2026
Gridlock is a Chrome extension published by Grapeshot Labs LLC ("we", "us"). It blocks a list of websites you choose and gates re-entry behind a daily puzzle quota. This policy describes how the extension handles information.
Data we collect
None. Gridlock does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, browsing history, usage data, or device identifiers. The extension has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and makes no network requests of its own.
Data stored on your device
Your blocklist, settings, and daily unlock state are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's extension storage. This data never leaves your device. Removing the extension deletes it.
Permissions
Gridlock asks for broad host permissions because the blocklist is yours to define — the extension must be able to redirect navigation on any domain you choose to block. It uses this ability only to redirect navigations on blocked domains to its local block page, and to clear a blocked site's cached data when an unlock window ends. It does not read page content and does not observe browsing on sites you have not blocked.
Third parties
The extension does not share data with third parties, because it collects none. It is distributed through the Chrome Web Store, whose own privacy policy governs the download and install process.
Children
The extension does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version of the extension changes any of the above, this policy will be updated here before that version ships.
